River wash gravel is placed in the drain line trench to aide in water flow. Then we put in Polydrain, an air-gap technology drainage board at the cove place where the base wall meets the cellar floor. This heavy duty built drainage matting is bent and placed up the wall and over the trench. It increases water drainage and directs intruding water because of hydrostatic pressure to the subgrade tile system. After the installation of the Polydrain the trench is sealed with commercial grade concrete.
Interior Basement Waterproofing solutions may also include things like wall systems. Options are a 6 mil polyethylene vapor barrier that’s tucked in the Polydrain and set up typically from floor to ceiling. It is not difficult to wash, 100% waterproof and does not support mold, mildew or bacteria development. For wall areas with higher water content, like corners, problem areas or old structure, Polydrain may be set up complete wall or chest elevated.
