Our cellar waterproofing solutions also include 4″ ADS, single wall HDPE perforated pipe. This flexible, lightweight renewable merchandise is excellent for subgrade irrigation water control. The drain pipe, also called drain is connected to a polyethylene sump basin which holds the groundwater collected and channeled to it by the ADS pipe. For additional protection there are Zoeller backup pump options which can be installed into the exact same basin either centrifugal, water-powered or battery backup.
River wash gravel is placed in the drain trench to aide in water flow. We then install Polydrain, an air-gap technology drainage board at the cove area in which the base wall meets the cellar floor. This heavy duty constructed drainage matting is bent and placed up the wall and above the trench. It increases water drainage and directs intruding water due to hydrostatic pressure to the subgrade tile system. After the installation of this Polydrain the trench is sealed with commercial grade concrete.

Alternatives are a 6 mil polyethylene vapor barrier which is tucked into the Polydrain and installed typically from floor to ceiling. To get a cleaner look and for walls with a high moisture content Polywall, an extruded resin sheet could be installed. It’s not difficult to wash, 100% waterproof and does not support mold, mould or bacteria development. For wall areas with higher water content, like corners, problem areas or old construction, Polydrain can be installed full wall or chest high.
Exterior Basement Waterproofing Solutions

Outside temperatures and base wall temperatures are critical in the application of the primer and self-adhering membrane. The same day the primer is implemented the self-adhering membrane can be installed on the walls and the footers to guarantee an impermeable watertight barrier. Prior to backfilling the surface, the membrane should be shielded with a durable tear resistant drainboard, so the membrane is not damaged during the process. After the area is backfilled, the soil is then tamped by the 20000 Leaks team to business the loose soil around the house ‘s base.
